Narrators

These terms apply to general narrator applications, voice samples, demos, portfolio submissions and project-specific auditions submitted to N. von Wolf (“N. von Wolf”, “author").

1. Purpose of Submission

Narrator applications, samples and auditions are accepted for the purpose of identifying potential voice talent for current and future N. von Wolf audiobook and related audio projects.

Submitting an application, sample or audition does not guarantee selection, a callback, an offer, engagement, contract or future work.

Being invited to audition for a specific project applies only to that audition. It does not constitute acceptance for that project or for any other current or future N. von Wolf project.

Likewise, previous consideration, previous auditions or previous work with N. von Wolf do not create an automatic entitlement, expectation or right of first refusal regarding future projects.

Any professional engagement will be governed by a separate written project agreement.

2. Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a professional services agreement.

N. von Wolf books may contain material intended exclusively for adult audiences, including explicit sexual content, violence, profanity, psychological themes, trauma, abuse, death and other potentially disturbing subject matter.

3. Submission Fees and Compensation

There is no fee to submit a general narrator application, demo, sample or portfolio.

General submissions are provided voluntarily for consideration and are not compensated.

Where a narrator is invited to complete a project-specific audition, any specific requirements or compensation arrangements, if applicable, will be communicated separately.

Participation in an audition does not itself create an employment, contractor or other professional relationship.

4. General Samples, Demos and Portfolio Materials

You retain ownership of any pre-existing demos, portfolio recordings, voice samples and other materials you submit or link to as part of your application.

By submitting or linking to these materials, you grant N. von Wolf limited permission to access, listen to, review, internally store and evaluate them solely for:

• narrator selection;

• audition administration;

• evaluating suitability for current projects;

• evaluating suitability for future projects; and

• contacting you regarding potential professional collaboration.

Submitting these materials does not transfer ownership of them to N. von Wolf.

Your submitted samples will not be commercially published, sold, licensed, publicly distributed or used in advertising without separate permission.

You confirm that you own, control or otherwise have sufficient permission to submit or link to the materials included with your application.

Where submitted material contains intellectual property belonging to another person or organisation, you are responsible for ensuring that your use, submission or linking of that material is permitted.

5. Project-Specific Auditions

Audio created specifically for the purpose of auditioning for an N. von Wolf project remains audition material unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

Project-specific auditions may be accessed, reviewed, internally stored and compared with other submissions for casting and production evaluation.

They will not be commercially released, sold or incorporated into a published audiobook merely because they were submitted as an audition.

An audition does not constitute a commissioned audiobook recording and does not transfer ownership of the narrator's audition performance to N. von Wolf.

Where N. von Wolf provides an unpublished excerpt for an audition, that excerpt remains protected by the confidentiality provisions below.

6. Human Performance and AI Disclosure

Any audition or sample represented as your own narration must represent your own natural human vocal performance.

If a submitted sample or audition contains a synthetic voice, cloned voice, digital voice replica, artificially generated performance or other materially AI-generated vocal content, this must be clearly disclosed before submission.

Failure to disclose the use of synthetic, cloned, AI-generated or digitally replicated vocal content may result in immediate rejection of the submission and removal from consideration for current or future projects.

Where misleading or undisclosed AI-generated material is discovered after a narrator has been invited to progress further in a casting process, N. von Wolf may discontinue that process immediately.

Ordinary audio editing, mastering, equalisation, noise reduction, compression and similar post-production processes do not need to be disclosed unless they materially replace, synthesise or generate the vocal performance itself.

7. AI and Voice Protection

Audio, auditions, demos and samples submitted through this application will not be used by N. von Wolf to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems.

Your submitted voice will not be used to create, train or develop:

• a cloned voice;

• synthetic voice;

• digital voice replica;

• generative voice model;

• artificial performance based upon your voice; or

• similar technology designed to reproduce your vocal identity.

Submitted audio will not knowingly be provided to a third party for those purposes.

Any future use involving voice cloning, synthetic performance, digital voice replication, AI training or materially similar technology would require a separate, explicit written agreement and informed consent from the narrator.

Submitting an application, sample or audition does not constitute such consent.

8. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure

During an audition or casting process, you may receive information that has not yet been made public.

For the purposes of these terms, Confidential Information may include:

• unpublished manuscripts or excerpts;

• synopses;

• unreleased plot information;

• character information;

• casting information;

• production notes;

• unreleased artwork;

• release plans;

• production schedules;

• business information; and

• other information identified as confidential or that a reasonable person would understand to be confidential in the circumstances.

You agree to use Confidential Information solely for the audition or evaluation purpose for which it was provided.

Unless prior written permission is given, you must not:

• disclose Confidential Information to another person;

• post it publicly;

• distribute or publish it;

• reproduce it except as reasonably necessary to complete the audition;

• upload audition recordings containing unpublished material to a public portfolio;

• post audition clips containing unreleased manuscript excerpts on social media;

• share unreleased plot or character information;

• use the material for another project; or

• make Confidential Information available to unauthorised third parties.

You must take reasonable precautions to protect Confidential Information from unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.

AI and confidential material

Confidential manuscripts, excerpts or project information must not be uploaded to generative AI, large-language-model, voice-generation, machine-learning or similar services where doing so may allow the provider to retain, reproduce, train upon, disclose or reuse the material without prior written permission.

Exceptions

Confidentiality obligations do not apply to information that:

• was already publicly available through no breach of these terms;

• was lawfully known to you before disclosure;

• was lawfully obtained from another source without a confidentiality obligation;

• was independently created without use of the Confidential Information; or

• must legally be disclosed pursuant to applicable law or a valid court or governmental order.

Where legally permitted, you should notify N. von Wolf before making a legally required disclosure.

Duration

Confidentiality concerning an unpublished book, manuscript excerpt, plot element or other creative material continues until that information is officially made public by N. von Wolf or the relevant publisher, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Other genuinely confidential information remains confidential for so long as it remains non-public, subject to applicable law.

9. Personal Information Collected

Your submission may include information such as your:

• name or professional name;

• email address;

• country of residence and time zone;

• languages;

• native and performed accents;

• voice age and range;

• creature, entity or non-human vocal capabilities;

• narration style;

• professional experience and credits;

• website or portfolio links;

• professional profile links;

• recording equipment and studio information;

• editing and mastering capabilities;

• availability;

• approximate lead time;

• typical rates;

• content-comfort preferences;

• audio samples and audition recordings; and

• any additional professional information you voluntarily provide.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for narrator consideration.

10. Why Country of Residence Is Requested

Country of residence is requested to help determine:

• time-zone differences;

• practical scheduling;

• availability;

• potential payment logistics if a project is later agreed; and

• jurisdiction-specific considerations that may become relevant to a future professional engagement.

A full residential address is not required at the application or audition stage.

11. How Your Information Is Used

Personal information submitted through the application may be used to:

• review your application;

• listen to and evaluate your samples;

• assess your suitability for current or future projects;

• identify potentially suitable character or project matches;

• administer auditions;

• contact you regarding potential work;

• maintain a prospective narrator talent pool; and

• communicate with you about professional opportunities.

Submitting a narrator application does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter or unrelated marketing communications.

12. International Applicants

Applications are accepted internationally, including from narrators located in the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia and other jurisdictions.

Privacy rights and legal requirements vary between jurisdictions.

These terms are intended to provide a consistent baseline while preserving any mandatory legal or privacy rights applicable to individual applicants.

13. Retention Period

General narrator applications, voice samples, portfolio information and associated audition materials will ordinarily be retained for 24 months from your most recent submission or meaningful professional contact.

At the end of that period, the information may be deleted unless:

• you submit an updated application;

• you communicate further regarding potential work;

• you agree to remain in the narrator pool;

• or continued retention is otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

You may request removal from the narrator database before the end of that period.

14. Service Providers and International Processing

Applicant information may be processed using third-party services reasonably necessary to operate and administer submissions, including website hosting, online forms, email, cloud storage, file hosting and audio-hosting services.

Because these services may operate internationally, information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, appropriate lawful safeguards will be used.

Applicant information will not be sold or supplied to third parties for their independent advertising or unrelated marketing purposes.

15. Your Privacy Rights

Depending upon your jurisdiction and applicable law, you may have rights including the ability to:

• request access to personal information held about you;

• request correction of inaccurate information;

• request deletion where legally available;

• withdraw consent;

• object to or restrict certain processing;

• obtain certain information in portable form; and

• complain to an applicable privacy or data-protection authority.

Where consent is relied upon for inclusion in the general narrator database, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully undertaken before withdrawal.

16. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures will be used to protect submitted information, voice samples and audition materials against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, alteration or disclosure.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Applicants should therefore avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for narrator evaluation.

17. No Guarantee of Future Work

Being included in the narrator database, receiving a response, completing an audition, advancing through a casting process or having previously worked with N. von Wolf does not guarantee a current or future engagement.

Each professional project is considered and agreed separately.

18. Governing Law

To the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law, these submission and confidentiality terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any mandatory legal, privacy or performer right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law applicable to an applicant.

19. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary where legally possible.

The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

20. Changes to These Terms

The terms applicable to your submission are the version presented when you submit your application or audition.

These terms may be updated for future submissions.

21. Electronic Acceptance

By ticking the relevant required checkboxes and submitting the application, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read these terms and agree to the provisions requiring your acceptance, including the confidentiality requirements.

Consent to retain your information for future narrator consideration is requested separately from acceptance of the Submission Terms.
